i just saw it to philbie, and how good is it!!
about time we saw GT's being used like they were meant to be, not wrapped in cotton wool and becoming shed/trailer queens.
more of us should follow the example!!

Awsome. Wonder what diff ratio their running? Looks like his fuel gauge doesn't work either. Its a pain in the ****. Very nice cars. Would be a very nice drive. Don't think i could afford the fuel bill though.

Bloody brilliant to see a couple of HO's being used how they should be,by real enthusiasts, not someone who see's it as a good investment.

If the rev limiters are working (or even still fitted), 6150 rpm should be it. With a 3.25 diff and 225/60 x 15 tyres, the speed is 144mph.

LOL, that's great, warms your heart it does. The original owner of my E49 Charger had a Phase Three HO before he traded it on a new E49 late in 1972. He was a doctor in Kalgoorlie, no doubt the fastest doctor in town :->

I think you no what i was getting at,most people who buy HO's lock them up in the shed and never drive them.
These two blokes are actualy appreciating the true aussie muscle that they are lucky enough to own.

I don't know why more people don't use them as intended. These cars aren't worth any more than the thousands of modded Falcons out there. Its the identity (provenance) that is worth alll the money - not the car.

When i had my P3, i thrashed the living crap out of it. God, you had to. It was so bloody overrated and slow!

Ahh great pics, the temtation is so great out there, nothing to do, not a car or truck in sight, i'll admit i let my XR8 stretch it's legs a bit on more than one occation out there.

Really should be No speed limit on some sections.

I have at least 7 friends who use theirs quite regularly. But you need to keep it in perspective, it can be quite intimidating driving around in a car worth 750K, especially when you know it will never be the same again if it gets bingled.

Noice......very very noice.

GT stand for Grand Turismo doesn't it?

They could have auctioned off rides in the passenger seats!

Sure, but worst case scenario, a virtual write off would cost probably $20K max to fix - and insurance would cover that.

Even if you completely wrote it off (and lived to tell the tale) you would still own a "HO", worth over half a million...

For a restored HO i can kind of agree, although it could easily cost closer to 50K to fix a "big hit", not to mention the significant loss in value as a result and given the cost of resto's these days the upkeep and maintanance costs and effort is an issue, that said however take the car im selling at the moment for example, its unrestored, totally day one original, in absolutely immaculate condition, now we drive it probably once a month, (time and weather permitting), if this car gets damaged it will NEVER be "original unrestored" again... you can't put a price on cars in this condition, when they're all restored or repaired that's it.... none left in their original condition.
