Default XR8 Inteceptor

So, why do some XR8's have a 'Boss 260' sticker on the bonnet, and some have 'Inteceptor' ?

Does anybody know the idea behind the 'interceptor' artwork?

Actually it WAS an ex-cop (undercover) car...

hmm... interesting.

in that case... if you see XR8's wanting to drag you with the 'interceptor' sticker on it, be aware, may be undercover cops

It is not possible to recognise an 'undercover' car. You mean an unmarked one. Completely different.

I take it the last line is a joke?

I actually brought one of these XR8's from the fowlers auctions in benetley WA, before they started to put the decals on them i've had my own specialised one made.

All the XR8's that are white there are ex nsw police vehicles and the auctions have only recently started getting the decals put on, some how I think they think it will make them easier to sell and get a little more for the cars aswell, like hello its a XR8 its enough IMO :P

Never heard of the HO interceptor either :S its the auctions getting these decals put on..

oh another thing police in WA are not allowed to have V8's, this has been in affect for quite sometime now in WA i'm not certain to as the lenght of time, they have recently began to get XR6T's.....

www.westsideauto.com.au is the place that has these things ;)

a policelady drove a V8 commodore copcar up a tree on perth's tonkin highway a few years back during a high speed chase. (pretty sure both officers in the car died)

the laws came in very soon after that.

i guess they figured the topend speed was too dangerous, and pursuits should be called off at that speed anyway. Therefore eliminating the need for V8's

true story

Did the bureaucrats take into consideration the drivers ability or did they just decide to blame the crash on the engines capacity ? why not blame other aspects of the car ?? ...not that there arn't a lot of accidents caused by engine capacity, perhaps large displacement should be brought up at the next geneva convention ?? Or maybe this is just another political agenda

A 6 cylinder car can easily reach speeds of 200km/h, there are many 4 cyliners which can do the same but these other cars typically don't have the level of saftey to handle as well as V8's do

So if you where a police officer yourself and you where involved in a high speed chase which would you rather be in a "dangerous" V8 GT with big brembo brakes, traction control and a preformance suspension and aerodynamic package or would you rather be in a high set but "safe" low displacement toyota camery with the premium pensioner brake package fitted and super grippy 205 nankans on the back

I can't speak for others but I know which I would prefer...
