Default Recommend me some Sports seats please

Spending 12 hours a day in a AU2 ute, I find the standard seats to get quite uncomfortable. Can someone recommend some sport seat options? Cant find much on the net for some reason. Experiences, recommendations, prices ? Thanks :0)

SR seats are the same as Forte seats, but trimmed in a "sporty" fabric.

XR seats have better bolstering (on the sides), but I can tell you that they are only marginally more comfortable than Forte seats. All falcon seats, AFAIK, I have the same padding in the base and the backrest. The only difference are side bolstering, on both seat and back rest, and headrest shape.

You could try a set of aftermarket seats, but not sure on the legality of these given that AU2 onwards have the anti-submarining thingy built into the seat, and I'd be guessing you need to keep this.

Your best bet would be to get a set of standard seats, and have foam added to them, and get them trimmed in the material of your choice. Or buy one of those massage inserts and try that - my brother in law used to sue one when he was a driving instructor and found that it reduced the soreness in his back.

You can try Roman Auto-Tek for a range of aftermarket seats.

Wow, did that include new cloth trim as well, or reusing the old trim? Sounds like a way better, legal & cheaper option than aftermarket seats.

good quality custom retrim and bolster in leather will be atleast 1000. retrim and bolster with cloth will be 500-750. you will get exactly what you want.
go talk to an automotive Upholsterer. Look at this thread for ideas.

S-Pack seats are another option, if you can find them. They are XR seats with different trim.

If I was going to go for ford seats from one of the upper market models, which model would you suggest? What has considerably more comfortable seats than the standard AU model?

XLS seats are the same at XR seats ... just a different trim.

If I can find myself a decent trimmer ... I'll get my standard seats re-bolstered using fabric (as I am not a fan of leather for seats).

This way I get to keep my ute seat flip-forward option. Although i might have to look for another driver's seat as one on my seat-base adjustors is a tad sloppy (moves when It's not supposed to).

No. The AU has a different floor pan to the BA/F. You will have to modified the base to make it fit.

Your trimmer should be able to fix that at the same time. I had one replace in my old Falcon.

S-Pack seats are bolstered just like the XR ones.....well my ones are.

There is a slight difference in the ute seats to the sedan. The ute seats have a flat fronted base, but the sedans have a round fronted base (pain for people with short legs)

Damn ... didn't realise the seat back was different.
Does your's have the dual adjustors for height for the base as well (front and back)
I find my rear base adjustment isn't holding the low position i want.

Bugger I found an old pic of the interior of the front seat ... but not the entire seat was in it ... but i guess you get an idea.

Wow ... huge difference ... i didn't realise it was that different at the front.
Is it annoying to have the bulge there ... is it hard up against the inside (back) of the knees???

Orb ... you should have the flat front seats like I do ... i am guessing.
I like the factory seats for long distance driving ... they are very comfy and support enough ... they aren't as flat feeling as the Territory (although the amount of adjustment in the Territory seats does make up for that ... along with power pedal adjustment).

I am 5'11" ... the only thingk I find annoying is hitting the steering column with my knees when getting in ... and I have my seats just about all of the way back as well (well as far back as the sub(woofa) enclosure lets me anyway.

Is this picture from a ute?

My seat doesn't have height adjustment and the handbrake is on the right... I've got a bench seat in the middle

I think the best seats are from a Fairmont Ghia. Leather and electric too.
