Congrats on buying a new car.

The FBT grille, is basically an EF Fairmont Grille surround with a different mesh insert in side of it. Good luck on trying to track a new one of those! Very hard to come buy...

Other grilles that will bolt on, are EL Fairmont, NF and NL Fairlane's and DF and DL LTD's...

In my opinion, the EF Fairmont Grille is the best looking out of the whole lot of them... Id love to swap my NF Grille for an EF Fairmont Grille...

This is what the NF grille looks like

If your EF is cardinal red, i'll swap ya ;)

I really like the EL Fairmont grill. Biased as that is, that is my favourite.

You can also fit it without painting due to the chrome surrounds.

Is the EL Ghia grill exactly the same as the EF Ghia?

If not go the EL, its the best IMO. The fairlane ones do NOT suit SWB's at all, they look stupid IMO.

On EL's only the Ghia had the colour coded sections on the grille. Fairmonts had grey.

On EF, I think there were a few variations of the grille. EF Fairmont had the grey grille, early EF Ghias had the black grille, and later had black with a thin chrome surround. Correct me if I'm wrong

EF series one had the "EF" grille, EF series 2 had the "EL" grille.

I have an EL Fairmont Ghia Grille which has "AS NEW" Chrome, no pits, no scratch's, mint BUT it is Burgandy and has 2 Small Chips on the paint and One of the Mount Brackets are missing..........

I may let it go for $150

PS EL Fairmont Grilles are not colour coded
EL Fairmont GHIA Grilles are colour coded

Not quite. Here are the grilles

EF Fairmont - grey grille (series 1 and 2 had the same grille)

EFI Ghia - plain black grille

EFII Ghia - note the thin chrome surround around the black grille - chrome isn't as thick as EL

I already said that in post #13
