Default New additions to the streets of Melbourne

As most of you know, I work as a furniture removalist. The difference between the company I work for and most removalist companies is that we specialise in overseas shipping, not local moves.

We either fill a shipping container and send it overseas, or have them sent to us and then deliver them to a house over here. Aswell as furniture, we also get a heap of other cool bits and pieces, including bikes and cars and whatnot.

We opened up a container this morning and found these inside. I thought some people might be interested. I know I was when I saw them. They've come over from the UK.

The Corvette is nothing short of insane. The transmission leaked oil all through the floor of the container though, so the owner is gonna be in for a hefty cleaning bill. The photos don't do either car justice as they were taken with my phone.

Correction, they've come from Canada. The rego plates on the big one (unsure of what this is exactly) say "British Columbia" or something, which is what made me think they came from Britian (I didn't see the out-turn sheet for this job so I wasn't sure where it came from).

But it's from Canada. The Corvette was tampered with by Alberta Engine Rebuilders Inc.

Edelbrock Victor Jnr. heads, Weiand supercharger, full NOS setup. A special note was made on the paperwork stating that it has no air-con though. Hmmm... Priorities, I guess.

There are drama's importing vehicles with air conditioning as the Gas used as the compressing agent can be nasty, and the costs are higher.

Pretty cool job you have there Woz, any idea what a car would cost through the crowd you work for to ship a car from the west coast of the US to Melbourne?

It seems the guy only bought the Vette for the engine (couldn't blame him) I found it on ebay, he is selling it without engine and fuel system. Its not a bad read to get the specs of the rest of the car.

Woz, did you ever consider that the owner may not have wanted these cars to be shown on the Internet? Just a thought. If he ever found out, could he legally do some damage to the company you work for? What about the companies reputation as a whole for prospective customers. If you got permission off the owner to do so then fine, but otherwise food for thought.

Nice cars indeed.

Cheers,
Steve
