Default EA Blend Door - Where is it?

I get an E2 blend door error on my climate control test. The lever is snapped on the Vent above passengers feet behind glove box. Is that the blend door?
Can the broken lever be fixed or is it a whole unit needs replacing?

Thats not the blend door you've described. The blend door sits on top of the heater box, against the firewall, and in EF-EL's you need to pull the dash out to see it, I don't know on EA-ED's however.

The broken arm can be fixed, or Ford sell a replacement which is suprisingly cheap (under $15) however that shouldn't be making an E2 error. The blend door controls the hot and cold air door to tcontrol the temperature, if it isn't working the air will either be hot or cold constantly. Is it doing that?

If you need to replace it, theres a doco here http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=8 which gives you a good idea about pulling the dashboard off to replace the blend door motor.

Check the vacum system first, the rubber hose was split at the induction manifold on my car so the doors & flaps couldnt move! A 5min repair is better than dash out! The lever on the pasenger side you refered to is for switching between recirculate & outside air. Mine is snapped too, looks to be a ИИИИИ to fix so I just use outside air, or you could wedge the flap open for recirculate.

Blend door has nothing to do with vacuum, its controlled via a 12v motor.
Yes unfortuanatly you need to remove the dash and heater box to get it out.
