Default Turboblades on an XF

As some of you know, I now have a set of Turboblades (EA Fairmont 15 inch alloy wheels) which I will be putting on my XF soon.

I know a few people have their doubts about how they'll look on an XF, and even I'm unsure how they'll look. I also thought it would make my XF look more unique. Well, until today.

This is what I saw down at the local safeway carpark:

Please try to ignore the ugly Lancer with the clear 'Altezza' lights next to it.

I think those wheels look suprisingly good on the XF, but I'm open to other peoples opinions...

They look better than the standard wheels, that's for sure. There is actually a nice XF pano up the road from me with a two tone (white over grey) paint job that has Turbo blades and is dumped, looks great. Deffinately needs lowering to make the wheels look good.

My mother's XF has turboblades.
As did my grandfatther's EF, but I know those were taken from his EA when my uncle gave him the EF as an upgrade.

There's a mint grandpa-spec ZL that's always parked out the front of work in the mornings, it's a navy blue colour and the turbo blades really finish it off perfectly! I couldn't picture it looking any better than it does (apart from taking off the damn sunvisor!)

Turbo Blades rox0r teh BIG one111!!

Sorry to burst your bubble bro but turboblades run a close second to 12 slotters in terms of cliched wheels for XFs. Notable mentions of course to EF XR6 wheels.

;-)

Edit: mate not saying that it doesn't look sweet as. My busted **** XF is STILL sitting on 12 slotters 4 years later.

Don't go to uni for 6 years or else you will become like me.

Hehehe, still better then the stockie 14" steelies with the crappy hubcaps, and it's all I can afford for now. Also, its the first XF I've seen around here with turboblades on it, so it's not THAT common around here at least

I don't really want to stick with 14" wheels, LOL!

P.S. I'd LOVE a set of EF XR6 wheels on my XF, but I doubt I'd be able to pick up a set as cheaply as I got the turboblades...

Actually looks quite good. Not a fan of turboblades usually, but I think it'll look good.

Maybe they'd broken. The centre caps are only plastic and do actually break. I recently replaced three of my centre caps (after a couple of months of driving around with only one centre cap). This was because I got new tyres and found that three of the caps were absolutely stuffed and were held in by silastic!

The turboblade is a timeless design. They look great on XFs, somehow they don't even look too bad on EFs (despite only being 15"). I saw a nicely polished set on a boat trailer last year, and it looked sweet as :sm_drool:

They rate about a 4 out of 10 when they're dirty and rise to 9/10 when in perfect condition.
Point of the post, spend 2 hrs cleaning each wheel if they're as dirty as the ones pictured on the red XF.

I think, cleaned up on a lowered XF and they'll look very good. The older cars can look good & get away with 15's due to wheel arch being designed for 14's & 15's.

I see heaps of XFs with turbo blades around. They don't look too bad on clean lowered car.
