guessing take off will feel a bit slower.. and it wont be reving as high when cruising so you might get better fuel economy

you'll need to change tailshaft if yours has the bigger Pinion.

its the yoke flange thats the prob. EB2 tailshaft runs a flange style connection to the pinion, where as EA run a uni style conection.

The trailing arm mounts on the diff will be narrower as well.

no you cant. 3speed shaft is longer than 4/5speed.

I found that u can swap the pinion so that the eb tailshaft can be used, rollin used an earlier model diff when his was getting a rebuild, he reckons he had no dramas.
soon see tomorrow

Well ,i got the diff in last tuesday. still goes hard, did't have to many dramas. just took it to the local mechanic to swap the pinions,i didn't have a soccet big enough.
The revs sit around 16/1700rpm at 100k, still got to change the speedo cog in the trans ,but unsure what colour cog it is, i know there's only 3/4 colours, maybe someone can help.

thanx for the advice.

I used the original 4spd tailshaft that was in my old EA behind a 4spd, 5spd and a 3spd with out any worry, the seal ran on the same part of the yoke behind all 3 boxes. They are all the same, except the EBII where they went to the different pinion setup.

2.77 was EA series 1 auto. It was used as the 3 speed didnt have overdirve, and was used as a vein attempted to control highway rpm.

um ... even with 3.27's in 4th in a t5 u can do 215 kmph, at 5750, with a set of 2.77s at 5750 in 4th (1-1) you would do 253 kph on rev limiter...... thats running a 205 65 15 inch tyre or a tyre with a 25.5 inch diameter... 100 kmph is 1660rpm in 5th
