Default Need a new motor

Howdy peoples, anyone have any good contacts where i can pick up a low km au motor? id be happy with a stocko base model engine, but wouldnt mind a xr6 motor. I rang around a few wreckers and they want about 600 for a long motor, but the last time i picked up a ed 4.0 that was apparently low km it snapped the timing chain and smashed my valve gear within 2 weeks, and they wouldnt honour the waranty the buggers. The ol 3.9 i got now is getting a bit noisy in the valve train dept, its a pitty cause i think its a bit of a freak of a motor, goes harder then the last couple of 4.0's ive had lol. So yea if anyone has any ideas or contacts let me know, want something a bit newer and more reliable, that i can throw down the 1/4 without worrying its going to rip itself to pieces

cheers

chris

There are two possibilities here, give Sandgate Wreckers a call if you haven't already. I have found that they are quite cheap or at least reasonably priced and they do stick by warranties.

Also there is a member that might still have an EF/L XR6 motor for sale at a reasonable price, give tyc00n82 a quick PM, or I can give him a quick call if you like (up to you).

Yeah I used Aussie Car Recyclers for an S3 AU - low K engine.

$550 but Low K and S3 - They knew it was for a turbo.
