Default Black Out!!

Hey guys. i got this problem where my brake lights are not working at all but the spoiler light will stay on all the time when headlights are on but as normal when off??
Could be justa fuse but wondering why the spoiler light would stay on if it was a fuse??

Cheers

Sounds like the rear spoiler has been wired into the tail lights instead of the brake lights. Brake light globes are probably just blown.

Check your brake switch (at the pedal)

Do you mean tail lights work when headlights are on? Then if the brake lights don't work, but the spoiler one does, then your bulbs have blown, or the brake light switch on the pedal is cactus. Either way, both options have already been posted.

I would check the wiring for the spoiler from the rear lights. Sounds as if the wiring is connected wrong way.

ok.
Headlights off- All works fine
Headlights on- nothing at all from brake lights. just the spoiler light staying on. So when i brake there is no indication that i am brakeing. The only light at tall is the spoiler light stuck on
Sorry i wasnt really clear before

I think that some idiot has wired the positive of your spoiler brake light up to brake light power and the earth of the rear wing brake light to the positive of the rear parking tail lights. When the tail parking lights come on then the spoiler brake light is getting a negative via the brake system. I can almost guarantee you that if the earth side of the spoiler brake light is removed from the tail lights an earth terminal crimped on then screwed into the cars body that it will work perfectly.
Hope this helps.
