Default Thanks ford

Thanks for the fantastic drivers floor mat that came with my falcon xr8.
Didnt know that 60 grand could buy such quality.
Not even 2000 ks on the clock and the heal of my foot is already wearing into the mat.
What about the protection it gives for my left foot, f##k protecting the carpet let's just give the people something that's totally useless.

Just curious, have you raised the issue with a dealer to see if they will maybe replace it if it is a fault with the mat itself?

I'd be peeved also even if it was my $47k Kia but your whinge seems a little excessive unless Ford has said they won't fix it.

The mats in my $60+k Wildtrak are perfect still
But the left foot rest wore thru the carpet
(Only time I use it is to position myself when first getting in)
Ford said "it's just a work truck" and called it "fair wear and tear" at less than 2 years and under 57,000 klm.......
But my mats are perfect
Even where my right heel sits for endless hours
Go figure

Same as shoes .. some people just wear out the outer edge of the heal because of the way they walk. Probably same way they sit their heel on the floor as they drive.

Same way seat bolsters wear out because people insist of dragging themselves into cars rather than sitting down into them.

The floor mats in most cars are pretty average nowadays. I remember back in the day you'd get real carpet floor mats to go over the real carpet in your car.

The mats in my ST are in pretty good nick after two years, but I find that I place most of the pressure on the front of my feet.

Have you contacted your dealer about it? Bring it up at the complimentary check up and see what they say.

The mats that came with my XR50 still looking totally good. I've done 66K in the car.

I would ask the dealer for another one.

You can get an upholsterer to sew in a plastic heal protector into the mat. It's cost $20 each time I've done it.

Yes but then the OP wouldn't have been able to bad mouth the company on a public Ford Forum

Ford mats used to be good, but FPV mats are crap.

Ford must be getting them from the FPV supplier now, 'cos the drivers' mat in my GT-E was worn through at 20,000km. It's in the same condition as the mat in my 280,000km Patrol. The Ford mats in our BF's are still fine.

I went to the dealer, and also to FPV. Guess what the response was....

FPV wanted $350 for a set. The same quality is available at Supercheap for 10% of the price....

Yes the Ford mats are pretty crappy, both my BA and my wife's BF have both worn a hole where our heels rest, wonder how long my new XR8 mat will last, they should put a reinforced section there for better wear.

No difference to the quality of factory mats in my sisters Mazda 6. Its not just a Ford thing!

I don't see what the problem is or how this is even getting mileage.

I've got FPV mats in my R-Spec - I want to keep them in good condition and I bought another set of mats to put over them.

For goodness sake, compared to the price of the car, $30 or so is nothing for mats.

I do the same for my Territory; the aftermarket mats have done 22000km now and are just starting to wear through where my left heel rests. The Ford Territory mats are - in excellent condition.

Bad mouth the company, have you got rocks in your Head, have you even seen these mats? I could actually live with the wear And tear but there is no protection at all for where your left foot rests, your foot sits on the car carpet. They give you 1 mat with the car is it to much to ask for a mat that actually protects ALL of the carpet.

Yeah that makes sense. I might go out and get a mat to protect the mat thats protecting the mat. Even then if there from ford my left foot would still be sitting on the car carpet

As was asked before. Did you mention to the dealer, or Ford customer service, about the carpet.
