Question Another insurance question for young drivers

My 21 year old daughter has just purchased a Suzuki Swift for $7000 and my regular insurance company wants $700 (that's 10% of it's value) to insure it.

Just chasing the names of some company's that a 21 year old with a good driving record could go to that other young drivers can recommend.
Cheers.

Just pump the details through any online calculator you can find.

You will notice that a few share a very similar format / layout. I think that's because they are actually owned by the same company.

Try AAMI, Coles, Budget Direct.

For that value, would it worth going 3rd party property with fire and theft? I think they insure to $5k?

Im 21 and pay NZ 1000 and excess is a further 1000, free class cover. Same insurance company since I had my first car and no claims has made my rates pretty cheap.

That's not so bad. I was 19 and bought a 1989 DA LTD for $5,500. Everyone wanted $2K+ to insure it, and NRMA was light years cheaper at $1,180. Still stupid money, but they have generally always been cheapest (except for 2014). Put my XR8 through them for around $600 a year, insured for $60K, but I am 33 now.

So $700 doesn't sound too bad, but just shop around to make sure that is the best price possible.

Thanks!
That explains the cheaper prices.
Those excesses are high for mine.
