Hey guys ive just installed a new dizzy to my EL XR6. Do i need to refit my airbox etc to start the car or can i leave it off until i know ive got the dizzy set right? Cheers.

Ok, well shes started but shes still running rough as guts, and ive advanced th dizzy as much as it will go. Could this be because the air box is off or is the dizzy not located properly??

Had the same thing happen with an aftermarket dizzy replacing the original Bosch one. The thing wouldn't seat despite having the wiring connector in the same place as the original. A bit of a rotation towards the block and she dropped straight in. Handy tip if anyone encounters the same problem. Did you replace the coil as well? - Very common for the two to fail around the same time!

Yeah i did replace the coil even though the original still had spark, i thought screw it. I bought a New bosch dizzy to throw in, but i did have issues getting the bastard seated, which turned out to be because of the oil pump drive which runs off the bottom of the dizzy shaft.....
