Default Strange writings on peoples cars

Heading home from work yesterday, there's a Mitsubishi Triton in front of me with a sticker that covers the whole tail gate - it's the Southern Cross, on top it has 'When justice becomes law' & on the bottom 'Resistance becomes duty'

First I thought I'd love to ask the driver what it meant and could he give an example.
Then I wondered about the injustice of driving a Japanese made vehicle, with the Southern Cross on it.

I know... I'm being picky

The best ones are the old, clapped-out Commos/mirages/any other p-platermobile with "Justify your Existence" plastered across the back. I think it has something to do with the "Unit" mx clothing brand. Same as the buffalo heads you wuite often see on utes (in NSW at least)

Sometimes I get frustrated at the unprofound notions of some people. But, if it weren't for them: then who would we have to make fun of?

Thats a common union slogan (even though its a quote from some USA person), southern cross is commonly associated with the union movement as well.

Not just the Eureka flag, even the southern cross has union affiliation.

Also the stars on the Eureka flag represent the southern cross.

People associate the southern cross with Australia but a lot of other southern hemisphere nations can also see it in the sky and have it on flags etc, so its not just a solely Australian thing either.

the buffalo head is the RM Williams brand, many utes around here with them across the back window.

the big cross with extra bright stars is normally affiliated with the eureka stockade and represents rebellion against the "establishment"......see a lot of unionists and bikies with them.

lot of oldies (like me) have S.T.K.I. plastered on the van......stands for Spending The Kids Inheritance.

Had a mental blank. Yes, the Eureka flag. A favourite of mine, too good to have silly slogans around it and plastered on imported vehicles when our local industry suffered due to lack of sales.

yes it would.

I took a photo of it, just checked it and it does state "justice". I reckon either he or the sign writer got it wrong.

yep! injustice that's the saying,

I rather like the eureka flag, I'm thinking of getting it put on the van, a lot of very good, proud, honest history behind it.

one to stand behind with pride if I remember the history correctly.

Haha makes me laugh when someone goes through the trouble of making a sticker like that, but is too dumb to even understand the quote, as clearly he has no understanding of it as he got it completely wrong. I bet he has no idea what it is supposed to mean.

Thats the same as the Australian army slouch hat, which we think is uniquely ours, but has been worn in similar style by other armies.

LOL for the tatoo part but the R.M Williams/Bull horns represents the tough, aussie, hard working country people and farmers and lifestyle they enjoy instead of the over crowded, ludicrous traffic problems the 'city slickers' endure everyday.

And R.M.W boots are still locally custom made some where in Oz my missus bought some a few years ago.

Dont even understand what the OPs original Q is about its seems a little silly.

Tho I do like the 'Love it or Leave it' sticker getting around.

just to "Beef out" the story of the brand it is actually known as the "long horn" brand after the texas long horns that were originally introduced onto N.T. and outback Q.L.D. stations when RM Williams used to work with and for the likes of sir Sydney Kidman.

the longhorns were fazed out due to a preference of a breed called "composites".

there is a lot of history and a very good story behind the R.M. Williams legend.

"Such is Life" seems to be a popular sticker on many cars - maybe cos you can buy it at the checkout at SuperCheap??? I'll bet most of them have no idea they were Ned Kelly's words upon being told what time his hanging had been set for. If they are using that phrase to honour him perhaps his final words, though longer, are more appropriate:

"Ah, well, I suppose it has come to this" or modern day translation = whatevs......

Our 4x4 club stickers get a lot of looks, "Bush Sniffers Offroad Club, lovin' the smell down-under" gets a lot of looks. Had an old women abuse me one day saying i was sick, i asked why her mind was in the gutter and she didn't say another word haha.

I generally have contempt for most people that put "fad" stickers on their cars. You can usually tell who the mindless sheep that can't think for themselves are. They are the ones that have to blindly follow everyone else, and, always put the latest popular sticker on their car because they wanna looks "cool". They may as well just emblazon across their car in big letters "I'm insecure, need attention and can't think for myself" because that's what everyone thinks of them anyway.

Well at least these stickers can be removed.
Whats funny is when these slogans are tattooed along an arm.
With spelling errors!

In melbourne in the late 90's early 2000's there was a trend of young males putting for sale stickers with there mobile numbers on they're car so the oposite sex would call them but if a male that was genuinely intrested in the car called it wasn't for sale

When I had to catch a train to work I picked up an old beat-up VB wagon to leave at Parafield station. Previously belonged to an old fella, original owner, and had an old faded "Pay justice for our police" sticker on the back from when SAPol were grumpy with SAGovCo back around 1990.

I'm not a fan of stickers but I left that on hoping to catch some leeway in case a patrol ever took an interest in the old roughie.
