Default when/where can you have a run at a track?

Is there any events where you can have a lap of the track with no speed limits or anything similar to that? I've heard of some power cruise or something dunno what that is but.

I'm in NSW.

Join a Club. Its a good way to start! Most (all) tracks have open days but mostly are used by the clubs.

Power cruise is great at eastern creek, but good luck with going flat out at that event with about 50+ cars on the track at the same time is an impossible task. At this event you have small squirts maybe 200m long here and there as you go around the track along with power slides out of corners. But great fun, one is coming up in the next few months...

Wakefield Park.

Look on their website for "speed off the streets" days.

They are fun days but very hard on the vehicle.

You will find the XR is very under braked for track.

If you go I'd suggest you upgrade to a semi track pad and slotted rotors as finding you're out of brake at turn 1 & 2 is not fun and a change of undies may be required.

This is what you're looking for, don't know how you missed it?
ARDC Track Days, they're run by the Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) who manage Sydney Motorsport Park (Eastern Creek Raceway), but you don't have to be a club member to participate, (you get 1 free track day per year if you are a member though).

if your a first timer Marulan Driver Training Centre is good, much slower and tighter than Wakefield but cheaper and still fun, But Wakefield is safe, not much to hit when you go off the track (you will if you try hard enough)
I ran my AU1 XR8 with BA brakes, std rotors but used QFM A1RM pads and it never had a problem but did melt the tyres and after 4 laps it was like driving on jelly
just go down for speed off the street with a mate that way you can race them unofficially which is way more fun. Maybe even post it on here and get a few people to go with you, I would come but only in my slow a$re Fiesta
