Default F6 for the rozzers

Had a quick look could not find a similar thread - if there is delete this one

Not too bad and the only info I have is also I hope it does not go south like the Porsche thread
Attached is the newest addition to the Fleet for Police.
These are the new FPV F6 Typhoons.
I believe 10 will be rolled out along with a few potential big GT's and eventually Holden's.

Don't be fooled by the brightness, if one is behind you the whole front end is unmarked so you wouldn't be able to tell

.

They have been running F6's in QLD and NSW for years.

QLD don't buy anymore except for upper management as drive cars. Currently QLD only runs XR6 Turbos and SS's (maybe a few other bits and pieces like 4 x Clubsport 325 SV's).

NSW has been running F6's for a long time, typically unmarked examples.

NSW police have ordered some R Spec GT's too I have been told.

that would be a terrible job , being forced to drive one of these at speed would be a hardship I would be happy to endure

Aside from that light bar up top of course.

As above, NSW Highway Patrol have been running F6's for years, mostly in the specialised task forces rather than in local forces though I believe.

The light bars get slimmer and slimmer and harder to see every year.

I reckon they look sexy and the front of it being unmarked is a great idea, but those aerials and the light bar give it away. They should use the small lights that go on the grill and behind the windscreen, along the windows, next to the number plates etc. instead of the light bar.

Indeed, you probably wouldn't give it a second glance... and then the Falcon dive bombs you.

Ch 7 just ran a story on the news on the highway patrol cars with all new cameras and tech in them (in time for the long weekend). Cost to the taxpayer $70K for the tech on top of the car....

Can't complain if it's Aussie made tech, installed by Aussie technicians.

At least the electronics can be moved from car to car at turnover.

lets face it they will always get good money back for an F6 when they finish with them so cost of the car is probably not an issue ( might even turn a profit after gov discounts)

These F6's are the new cars equipped with the ability to automatically scan other cars for rego, mobile phone use and wether the driver or passengers are wearing seatbelts.

ANPR is on all HWP vehicles, not just these F6's. They've had it going for a while now, It is also part of the reason why NSW won't be handing out rego stickers from next year.

Oh ok, i wasnt aware of that. The ACA story makes you think that these cars are the new fleet equipped with the technology, implying that all previous cars did not have them.

Well bottom line is guys, obey the law and you wont need to worry about these beautiful puppies pulling you over.

I was under the impression that police vehicles with the small LED lights behind the grill and on the dash/parcel tray could not engage in pursuits, which I would assume these would be required for[?]

And a very poor one at that...

Anyways, "best" pursuit vehicle I've seen is the pair of base model Lancers at the Penrith station... Mind, the taxpayer could pay for 5 of the Lancers for one of the highway patrol kitted out FPVs/SSs...

Great, the police, using public money mind you. Get a super fast tool that instantly spots when people have forgotten to pay their rego, and the public lose the tool that they use to remind them that the rego is running out. If that doesn't make money I don't know what will.....
