Default Taurus EcoBoost V6 engine disassembled.

Livernois Motorsports in the US got there hands on a 16000 mile 3.5L EcoBoost V6 out of a Taurus SHO, some nice pictures of the block, heads etc at http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...livernois.html

Interesting to see that they don't have independent VCT. I thought that was one of the features of this engine.

interesting pics, see the tiny exhaust manifold outlets, as some one commented probably to speed up spooling.

it's the 3.7L V6 that has the TiVCT the engine they put in the 2011 Mustang 227kw/380nm

Pistons have carboned up quick, but that seems to be a feature of DI engines if you dont thrash them occasionally.

That's what I thought too. Maybe it's only the F150 engine with independent VCT.

Taurus SHO was first edition Ecoboost, F150 Ecoboost has dual IVCT and develops much more torque,
I'd expect that 2013 year model Taurus SHO will have the upgraded engine to keep those pesky Chevys at bay....
