Default misftre update

thanks to everyone who has replied. ive picked up my xr6 and have been told by my mechanic the problem is im running on standard unleaded when i should be using premium which is higher octain .im a bit sceptical on this as ive used standard ulp for 6 years with no problems

running on a lower octane will not cause it to missfire, unless it had done damage from detonation etc

Running lower octane fuel will only cause the motor to Ping/Knock not to misfire unless there is water in the fuel

Sounds like a crock to me....and it should run on E10 (all ULP from next year will be E10 anyway).

sounds like you might have a vaccum leak or dodgy map sensor I had similar issues when I had my eb xr6

ive just seen another mechanic and he says its more than likely a faulty lead .hes going to check on friday
