Default car is possessed

just sold my AU 5L Fairlane, when the guy came to pick it up all was fine until he went to start it. now this car has always started first turn of the key.anyway turns the key , nothing. had dash lights but nothing else. put it in N still no fire. opened bonnet, lose earth terminal- great. tighten car cranks over once, no start- hmmm. clean terminals, car starts-- all happy. wave bye-bye and guy leaves.

next morning guy calls car did same every time he stopped, but with a new twist, you are not going to believe me, car will start if he put arm through window and turns key. if he is in the seat car wont go!!!

i am not joking this is really happening. thoughts please? and yes i have thought about a preist.

This is just my $0.02,

I would be looking at the sealt belt sensor wiring that is in the seat, may have been pinched or rubbed through. Also are the seats electric?? possible short happening when the seat gets sat on. May not have happnend with you due to body weight however the new owner may be heavier causing the seat to sag futher and make contact with a bare wire.
I could be way off but its worth a shot.

Cheers
Doug.

thats what i came too. the car has been sitting for 6 months, so maybe something in the electric seat has gone nuts.

If the car starts, but noone hears it, did it really start?

I'd say something with the seat electrics.

Yes..it happens. Years ago I had installed as alarm to an au and the driver rang me and said the lights switch physically turned on by its self after I did the job. Holy water blessed by father Nick did the job..
