There's nothing really much to say except he should have at least gone for the full 200!

yep, after you are doing 45 over, you may as go all the way!!!

I know when I drive on highways I kind of do that in the bracket of speeding that I am doing at the time. Ie, if you are doing 112, you are in the bracket of 110 to 125, so may as well do 125.

As soon as you do 45 over, its the same as doing 100 or 200 over! No difference.

I am pretty sure its the same fine, 45 over and more is the same, and you lose you licence for 12 months. Doesnt matter how far over.

I don't see how a 21 year old open licence driver has anything to do with no V8's or turbos, no more than 1 passenger between 11pm and 5am and a 0.00 BAC for p-platers?

care to explain...

because the driver is still young and hasnt been driving as long as probably most the people on the forums and for some reason most people seem to class young drivers with p platers and being stupid

I don't see what this has to do with the topic, so no explanations are necessary.

The next post arguing the point will see this closed.

And what will that do?

If he has shown this much disrespect for the law now, what is going to stop him from driving while under suspension?

An L driver was detected in Northern tassie during the week, 204 in a 80 zone, yep, you guessed it, in a Commodore Executive.

The only aspect of this, that's slightly different from the usual stereotype, the L plater was a girl.

When I was in that age bracket, at that stage in my driving experience, me and my friends simply didn't have access to vehicles that went that fast. That was a long time ago, and most 'first' cars nowadays have a velocity potential far removed from the capability of the driver.

It is scary that we have such inexperienced drivers sharing our roads while travelling this fast.

196kmph = 54m per second across the ground, an aweful lot can go 'wrong' in a public setting, that is beyond the capability of most of us, regardless of age.

Be observant people, you just don't know what might be coming the other way...

There's nothing you can do... as long as there's young people getting their licences, it's going to happen. The only difference is more and more fast cars are become easily obtainable, I mean these days a stock Falcon will do a 1/4 in 15 flat!

Mind you, it doesn't appear to be much worse then it used to be...

I'm suprised he stopped, I doubt the police would have been able to pursue him at that sort of speed in suburbia, so at least thats something.
