It's the new system they have in place - mobile speed cameras. Their headlights are set up as the flash for the camera, so chances are you were probably speeding...........

Maybe he was flashing you to let you know of the mobile speed camera/trap further up the road, like all courteous drivers should.

In saying that though, when I had my commodore I had a copper with a radar gun just flag his hand down (slow down kinda motion) to tell me I was going to fast and let me keep on going. He was obviously on a mission to get the B-Doubles speeding down the hill.

If only they were all that nice, I could have saved myself $466 dollars and 6points on Monday :

Regardless of why they did it, you aren't going to be issued a ticket, so stress less.

Yeah ive had this too when on my bike, not sure if it was speeding or it was high beam on (always run with them on during the day), The copper did a quick flash of the red and blues and pointed at me, but never turned around.

I'd say it was because of your headlights being to bright. I get flashed all the time because mine are two bright and they need to be adjusted down to suite the lowering job on the ute, ute sits level and they sat up in the back from factory.

Or, it could have been that you were a little over the limit and were giving you a friendly warning, that's how its done in NSW these days becaue as soon as the officer hits the Red/Blue's it starts the on-board camera and then they have to book you.

Maybe their paddles jammed up and made them hit their high beam switch?

That's because they know there's no way they'd catch a road bike in traffic...or on the open road for that matter. By the time they've turned around and got up to speed, you're filtering between lanes and gone and on the open road you're just, well, ....gone, lol.

haha... i can just imagine.. coppers driving down the road... driver turns to the passenger and says.. "watch me play with this guys head... he's gunna wonder why the hell we flashed him"

i think they do that stuff as a warning if you are speeding.. to tell you to slow down.. or possibly your headlights are bright...
