Default little theiving kids!!

was watching a movie just a couple hours ago and i got a call from my sister saying she just had a call from someone across the road telling her that 2 15yo's were just trying to debadge the chevy badge off the back of her boyfriends VZ SS sitting in the driveway.

im not a holden fan by any means, but he has put alot of mony into his ute, its his pride and joy just like my xr is to me. it makes me soo angry that kids would try this in broad daylight. im just waiting for them to come back and try again tonight.

Perfect oppertunity to stake out the car and catch them in the act.

Then when you do you can de-ear their head.

Doubt they'll come back. Usually just do it as they walk past, not generally something you plan to do.

The kids were only doing what's right. If it was a holden badge I'd say pricks, BUT ITS NOT A DAMN CHEVVY. The 15yo's are smarter than the guy who owns it.

Obviously you are from the same generation.

Common sense will come to you as you get older Gaz.

Sure, the engine is mostly Chev.. the the god damn car is not. They all scream how Australian Holden is... then whack a failing american brand badge on it. :

Ok some missed some of the sarcasm - I hate kids that do this crap, it was a dig at the Holden driver who thinks its a Chev.

I am not of the same generation so don't give me that crap. I have never damaged someone's car or property.

What's the world coming to????????????
Stealing fake Chev badges from Holdens.
That would NEVER happen in my day

Yeah in my day the kids used to steal the genuine 179 badges from Holdens.
Or the X2 badges if they could find one
But nearly every car was badgeless

The Customline V8 badge was a treasure on a belt for these morons but when they became scarce they just took the 179.

Some things change
Some things stay the same.
Except fake

People do it for looks. I reckon it looks tough as.

I can't beleive you support the teenagers. You should be ashamed, and society should be worried if you are/going to bring up children.
I certainly hope not.

Mummy and Daddy obviously let you do whatever you want.

We had our house robbed one Saturday night, he knocked off a laptop and spent 2200 on two credit cards he got his hands on. So I spent the next saturday waiting for the oxygen thief hoping he'd try it again.

He never returned, but I hate to think what would have happened if I caught the bugger in the act. Had on this one occasion made they wrong decision and ended killing or seriously injurying him, or if was the other way around and living with it for the rest of my life.

Just let it go and move, S*** happens, they didn't get the badges so be glad.

Also, seeing that Holden drivers put chevy badges on their commondores, does that mean I can put Mustang badges on my Ford?

I know its not exactly the same but I just replaced for the 3rd time in 2 years my letter box, the first 2 were $350 odd concrete one's todays $100. I live in a court but yet some one finds the need to come up and kick them over smashing them on the ground. The other week they smashed about 6 of them around the estate. Why!

If you like it, and you think it looks good, go for it.

Do we make our cars look good for ourselves, or for other people?

Back in "my" day, de-dadging a car was worth 100 points. Juvenile yes....but that is what we were "juvelines!"

It was the 80's and that is what was the common thing...so to say "why do such a thing"...well..I can not comment...I was with friends that did.

Horrible act no doubt but kids don't see it as such. To them it is just another "trophy" they have collected to impress.

Nb: now much older and wiser...I do not condone this!!

haha all you old men complaining about 'the youth of today'
nothing has changed in a million years.

i remember i was talking to a mate of mine in the workshop one day and over the radio we hear a caller who was going on about hoons today and these punk kids doing wheelies and clutch tricks (?) and old mate, who would have been 60 in the shade, said to me 'i don't know about him, but i had lost 3 mates before i turned 21 in car accidents because they were reckless.'
like i say, nothing changes.

Loosing the badge is one thing but panel and paint damage from levering them off can be costly just can't leave your cars anywhere nowdays. Even though it was a hhholden it's just not done. (sorry but it's hard to say the H word)

What is wrong with kids today you ask wrt to de-badging? As has been suggested, this has gone on for years. My mate's Dad has a paddock of various wrecks on his farm. These include an LC GTR, LJ GTR, and a HG GTS Monaro. LJ de-badged and de-tagged, LC debadged, and HG now no tags or badges either. Kids of 2009, I think not..... Happened many a moon ago, not by opportunistic kids. Somebody knew the value of these little trinkets

Someone tride to steal the ford badge on my boot - which aint easy to get off and if you try you scratch all the paint, especially since its recessed into the metal. My boot looks horrible already though, there's scratches and marks all over it from the previous owner - should get it replaced.. wonder if i can get the bootlip off easily.
