Gday gurus..
ive seen catch cans for sale that do not come with the fitting for the level sensor on the side, what can be done with the sensor with regards to the left over wiring and the dash indicator light? do you just fit a resistor or bridge it some how so that the light on the dash stays OFF? cheers, Gonz.

Im reading this as though you want to fit a header tank that does not have provision for a sensor, yet your ute has one fitted and you dont know how to stop it going off on the dash if you dont fit it again. Is that correct?

Why not buy a sender from ford, rip the wires and neatly connect them together, then plug them into the wiring loom

I bought a stock tank from this guy... here
But if you are after an aftermarket one, then as suggested buy a ford sensor like this

ok, i wont to get one without the sensor which means ill have left over wiring(sensor wiring) and a light on in the dash...now how do i cancel the warning light(no i dont want to remove the globe!)
any one know? gonz.

catch can is something entirely different.
Coolant Reservoir/Radiator Header Tank/Coolant Overflow are the terms you are looking for. an oil catch can is completely unnecessary on a garden variety I6 and 999 out of 1000 motors on the road.
