I wouldn't mind seeing some pics myself. I never understood why the EF/EL and BA/BF got fog lights that fit (rectangular) and are readily available aftermarket, but the AU didn't.

hmm, i didnt think so, weired ay? its the shape that makes it difficult to make, i would like it to look factory, i think ill need to look around at other makes and see if i can spot one similar in shape and retro fit it.

if any one has a good example of fog lights on AU's please post it up, i would like to see what it would look like,

cheers,

Gonz.

Easiest way to do it would be to buy a light thats around 80-100mm in diameter and mount it behind the front bar so it 'fills' the brake duct hole if that makes sense. youd want one that is a rectangular shape so something a long the lines of the Hella "Comet" series would work well.

That only works if its a Series 2/3 XR front bar. The normal AU front bar is a little more tricky, with the curvy wedge shape.

I'm planning on doing something very similar to AU3Chaser.

I'm also working on another fun little project to do with the XR bar.

What is that out of curiousity? Is it modify the bar to fit the standard lights?

In a way, yes. I am making an XR style front bar that is a direct replacement for the standard bar.

I did a very quick crude shop of what I'm talking about.

The finnished product will obviously be without the XR style grille. It will just be the lower section, so you can swap it over with any non XR AU Bar.

I stole the image from Russel, sorry mate, but it was the cleanest image I could find at the time.

This one has fog lights in the brake duct holes. Just to show what could be done. I've also increased the size of the airdam/radiator area, but this was just to play around. It may help if an intercooler is used.

EDIT: Please be kind :P I only had MS Paint available to me.

The Camry ones look good too, mount them upside down in the corners of the standard bar.

Anyone got a pic of the front bar on the car without the plastic inserts?

Would provide a better idea as to what has a better chance of fitting.
