Default Today Tonight- Fuel Comparisons

Hi Guys, I am at work tonight, but really am wanting to know the results of the fuel comparison tests they are doing on today tonight at 6.30 tonight.
Please post up results for me! mainly the premium and high octane stuff.. I cant quite convince work to put a plasma screen in the lab.. ;-) :

lol cause as with all these today tonight and a current affairs 'tests' the results will be completely reliable and valid.

Don't waste your time.

Haha! Yeah I know! But who else tests our fuel? I get such inconsistant batches from both Mobil and BP fuel stations my TWO Standard F6's Ping on occasions. I have new plugs gapped correctly etc etc. and do so particularly over long weekends, easter break & xmas break times..

Have your F6's been tuned at all? What grade fuel do you run? Independant testing is done pretty often. All fuel has to meet very strict regulations to avoid huge fines.

You think corporations like Mobil, BP etc. want to risk a $10 million fine or risk losing their fuel license to save a few cents and not meet these regulations?

If you buy from corporate owned sites owned by BP, Mobil or Caltex you should not have any real issues.

I use Mobil 8000 mainly, occasional tank of BP Ultimate but mobil is a bigger servo closer to me (have never used 95 or lower).
Both cars totally standard, just have K&N panel filters, and under 60,000kms each. It happens with the first time I give it beans, then after that its fine (computer it after it pings the first time??)- And yes its definately pinging not something else, and this happens only sometimes, all temperatures. Anyway, Just wanted to know what they said in the story of which fuel they said was better, which had the higher octane rating of the ones tested etc.

Thought about staying away from there then. I know mine hates Mobil 8000, pings carries on and gets even worse economy then usual.

Does it with the BP Ultimate stuff too.. But will try it on my next few tanks. But as said, it only really does it over busy times like public holidays.xmas.easter etc. So say once every 2 months?

BP Ultimate and Mobil 8000 are the same fuel, only the cleaning additives differ (except when BP have a shortage, they will just use exact Mobil 8000).

I've heard that many times but not sure how much truth there is in it for down here in Vic, the fact of the matter is Mobil 8000 makes mine run like a pig. Ultimate makes it run like a dream.

Ok so they see the "Better" fuel as the one that takes you further?? Didnt they do octane rating tests??

Interesting that Liberty is at the bottom.

An octane rating test would have been good. They should have also run the same test the following week, then again a 3rd time after another week to see if the results were consistent.

The 7Eleven at Jindalee gets their fuel from SHELL. I have seen the SHELL tanker there several times. Do all 7Elevens get their fuel from SHELL.?
I ran my FIESTA on Freedom Fuels 98 and it ran like . Never using again.
