Default Will Davidsons first car?

Thumbing thru the current "Wheels" mag, I see single column fluff piece on Will Davidson. He talks about his first car,"an old white EL ute". Says how it was a bit fough but he loved to thrash it about etc etc.

Hang on...
Slow down
EL Falcon Ute?

The closest thing I can think of is XH.. but that was XF body with EF front.. hardly an EL.

And if he is 25 now, then when he was 17-18 was 2000.
The EL was only a few years old, hardly "P plater thrasher hack" status.

OK Will.. fess up. what was you driving?

You'll see many P-Platers with cars you may not consider "P plater thrasher hacks" Doesn't mean they havn't worked hard to buy there two or three yr old car?

Why assume since he got the name wrong of a car he was driving 8 yrs ago, he never actually owned one? Maybe he isn't as clued up on the XH series of utes as you or me? And since they look like an EL ute to the average person who doesn't know much about fords, maybe he doesn't know much either so he called it an EL?

Stupid thread IMO.

They looked like EFs not ELs..

my question stands.... how can he have owned and EL ute if they didnt exist?

I kinda guesed it was xh, but my point is with him being contracted to Ford and "wheels" being an "authority on cars", why was there no sub editor double checking facts.
Im not having a go at him, but at wheels sloppy editting.

He is contracted to race their cars, not to know what models the utes were ten years ago.

Same goes applies to Wheels, who cares that they got the model of Will's paddock basher wrong?

Let it go.

To me that says you are questioning Will, not wheels' editing team...

Indeed. In fact, with the ease of getting loans these days you don't even need to work THAT hard.
