Mine are 235/40 all round with SL's. You can go a fair bit wider on the rear but 245's attack your guards unless you get the lip rolled.

Are your rims 8" wide? I ran a set of 9" rear rims with 265/30/18 on the rear and no scrubbing at all (with SLs), and I think 235/40/18 on the front 8" rims - again, no scrubbing. Offset was +35 for the front, and matching for the rear.

I've got 235/40/18 now, but had 245/40/18 before (standard BF XR8 wheel/tyre combo), and had no issues with scrubbing etc at all with either. Width depends a little on brand sometimes apparently, all 235s are not created equal etc etc.

I have 245/40/18 and 265/35/18 without any rubbing.

It doesn't matter what diameter the rims are anyway, what's important is the tyre/rim width, and rim offset.

Rick.

I'm running ultralows/SSL's with 18's and 40 series rubber...and haven't rolled the guards, and it hasn't rubbed yet.

And living out in the sticks some roads are a bit worse for wear...
