Default Melbourne man wrecks father's Ferrari

Ouch!

It's no fun calling dad after crashing his car - but it's worse when you've just wrecked his prized Ferrari.

A Melbourne man had to make that call on Saturday night after destroying the front-end of his father's 'Italian Stallion' in a very costly smash near Rod Laver Arena.

I wonder does his father have a light blue one also, Last week i was sitting at the lights in Sunshine going over Ballarat road when a light blue Ferrari came screaming up to turn onto Ballarat road, Floored it hard and spun it around 180, Then planted it 180 again flat stick power sliding through the next 2 red lights, This was pretty much close to peak hour traffic they guy didn't flinch through the red lights.

It's not a Scuderia, Scuderia is a Ferrari 430 flavour. The one mentioned in the article is a 360 Challenge Stradale. Similar to the Scuderia as in being a lightweight racing version of the 360.

Thanks for the correction but it is the same thing. Just the difference between 360 and 430 models.

Well yeah it's sorta the same thing like I said, Scuderia is to F430 what Challenge Stradale is to 360 in essence. You said it was the Scuderia, but meh.

Yep 360 Challende Stradale....

Challenge Stradale
The Challenge Stradale is the hard-core, race-focused version of the Modena. With a modified 3.6-litre V8 motor from the Modena, the Challenge Stradale accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.2 seconds.

In total, the CS is 110 kg (243 lbs) lighter than the ordinary Modena. 94 kilos (207 lbs) was taken off on the aluminium bodywork and by stripping the interior. The engine and transmission was slimmed down 11 kg (24 lbs).

The common difference between a Challenge Stradale and the base Modena is by the larger 19" BBS wheels on the CS, and carbon-fibre side mirrors. Other noticeable differences include an updated front bumper, lower ride height, and a black mesh grille at the rear end of the car, with the unique Challenge Stradale badge.

The car also has unique bucket seats which are noticeable from the outside.

This is so funny.....

How could you ever picture the most caring understanding father keep his cool at his son after this? Im sure the belt would have been out the second the kid got home. If that was me and I crashed my old mans ferrari I would have smeared tomato sauce over me, got back in the car and played dead

The report doesn't indictate whether he had permission. It'd be a harder call to make if the old man didn't know about it.

If you think about it, it would be more disappointing for a bloke earning 40k a year to have his son crash his 35k Falcon, then a multi-millionaire having his son crash a 400k Ferrari. My 2yo son smashed our 4k LCD TV and it didn't really worry me because I was that worried that he could have been electrocuted.

Yeah I agree that's why I don't see it as a big deal.

Since the guy was speeding that means there'll be no insurance to cover that ferrari yeah?

The guy is probably under 25, so I doubt insurance comes into effect here.

When I used to work back in Melbourne one of our clients son's did the same thing to a brand new 355 Berlinetta. The son was 20yo at the time and lost it around a roundabout. Car was written off and kid was lucky to be alive.

The dad then purchased the first 550 Maranello in the country from the melbourne Motor Show.

Still dont know how they managed to get that around insurance though.......
