How was it stolen Richie. I was under the impression these things are pretty hard to lift?
Was it left unlocked, keys in ignition? do you think they drove it off or tilt tray?

Sorry for your loss mate. It constantly brasses me off how you can scrimp and save for something like your dream car and then some lowlife who's benefit you're probably paying through your taxes thinks he has more right to it than you. I have had my 'dream car' stolen once before - a 1972 V8 Valiant Charger that I saved my butt off to afford. Low and behold, two months later someone helped themselves. They actually towed it away with the alarm blaring and no one took any notice until I started asking questions. Motor and engine were recovered one month later, and destroyed body shell two months later. ****3rs!

Mate, sorry to hear that.

Get on to Spirit of Tas and let them know as well. I've heard of cars disappearing from the mainland and resurfacing down in Tassie..........

Please explain whether the car was broken into and 'hot wired' or the they had access to the keys. Like others, I'm concerned my GT could be an easy target with the factory security system...........

no good mate

but how exactly was it stolen???

im assuming that a new car like that would be rather hard to steal without keys???

Hey mate, sorry to hear about your loss, was it all insured at least, including all herrod etc mods?
If it is all fully insured, best they take it and you never see it again as I thik it would hurt more finding in into a tree/river etc as I found an old commodore of my oldies once.. Good luck mate.. Let us know how you go!

Default Car Recovered...

G'day fellow ford fans.. Car recovered in the early hours of this morning... crashed / dumped...

Has hit a gutter sideways at speed, smashing the wheels / driveshaft & front end has hit a steel "No Stopping" pole... Rev limiter 7k but who knows how hard they might have been thrashing her... tyres now bald, and eyewitness to the crash said they were doing burnouts etc (or at least trying to...)

Not sure how excited to feel about the find... i have some pics, if someone could tell me how to put more on the site... (do i have to remove the other three..?)

To answer all the Q's about what happened... the car was locked, inside my locked garage... the guy has broken into my house, stolen the keys (plus various other things..) then taken it... must have rolled /pushed it out and down the street as it's extremely loud + angry on startup.. Happened with myself + two flatmates at home, although out the back of the house drinking (Sun arvo!) with music on... bout 7pm...

Many thanks to all who have written with kind words... i appreciate it.

Richie.

I'm sitting at work eating my lunch and those pics are making me literally sick and it's not even my GT.....Thats a shocker....I'd be on a mission to fund the are%holes now....I'm now gonna hide my spare set of keys I think.

I'm really sorry to see that mate....That's tragic....and taken from your own place too?

Not sure what i'd rather have the insurance company do in that situation if it were mine...In some respects better if you never saw it again provided it's fully covered

I hope it all turns out well for you mate.

Did you get back the other stuff that they pinched?

I'm amazed at the balls it would take to go into your house when your obviously home...

There is no melted rubber on the inside of the rear wheel arches - I they got a burnout going it didn't happen for very long but you might want to add a clutch to the list of things to replace under insurance.

PS if you manage to get hold of the scum that pinched it...then please let me know, I'll bring friends, we'll have a 'going away' party !

Thats a problem in that they know where he lives, so nothing to stop them coming around again once its all fixed.....In some respects it's better for it to be stolen off the street or in a car park...Bit of a worry when they know where you live

They obviously knew you had a nice car ....Any enemies come to mind?

I can't believe their balls...You're at home, they break into your house and nick your car

i see every day more and more stories of theives breaking into houses stealing keys.. theyre to stupid to bypass the security systems so they break in and get the keys.. if im ever out the back at the pool the front doors and windows are locked the cars are locked the keys to all 3 cars are out by the pool and spares are all well hidden...

if nothing i hope that this has taught u to put ur keys away although a pretty bad way to make u recognise that :(
