Question Ford AU 2 DOOR

Can anybody out there remember the 2 door Au falcons? I beleive Hiller bros in Tenterfeild were responsible. Are they still doing them? I'd like to get more information. Photos if anyone has any would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Contact Hillier Bros, they will give you what info you need and how much it is.
You will need deep pockets though as I think I remember a figure of $25,000 quoted previously for a drive in drive out job. Not bad though for the amount of work that would be put into it.

Here's another link

The gold coupe was a great effort and very individual, but it was far too ricey for my liking. The 300+'s sheetmetal was much better integrated and even though the kit was still a little over the top, it all worked well.

And the green XR one....awesome!

I preferred the AU coupes over the BA, as the AU coupes looked like proper coupes, with significant changes to the window shape and side profile. The BA version looked like a sedan with the rear doors welded shut.

that red one looks excellent, i dont think 25k is an overly huge amount to get it done, buy a cheap fairmony, get it couped and you'd have a very unique car and still havent spent as much as a second hand old bmw.

The green 2 door AU was turned into the 300+.

Wasn't there also a Ford factory-built AU Coupe?

A one-off concept that unfortunately never made production :(

lol, my mate accidently broke the window on the one that ford was moving around to all the shows, he worked at ford in nambour and they were looking after it for a bit.

it was a normal sized window into the coupe door frame, so when it was wound down it was under enourmous pressure, so you were supposed to close the door with the window up, he didnt know this and clsoed the door with it wound down, pop goes the window.

No that was a massage of the Hillers car, the 300+ that was referred to in earlier posts.

It's not the right shape for a coupe. Looks ugly IMO.
And that arrow, front end straight from a Ford Taurus that one.

As I said, it was Hilliers. The Hilier Bros made the first AU two door coupe, the green one. They 'lent' it to AEC, who own Sprintex superchargers. Sprintex got a company called Millard to alter the Hillier coupe in the 300+ though initally the Hilliers had no idea this was happening.

Not sure if a Sydney member still owns a shell of one or not ... someone might be able to confirm it though.

haha ah yes, i still got the wheels article of this car. imo, the 2 things that made it look wrong was the front (ugly) and its side profile (I think they kept the wheelbase length so it just looked like a stretched out coupe). The main thing going for it was the 6.4L V8, but sadly, the numbers didnt reflect its power figures either.

That Red AU coupe was driving around the Gold Coast about a month ago. Looked alright.
I saw that arrow coupe years ago when they were doing a 3 car test up Mt. Macedon. Ugly looking thing, they made the AU sedan shape looks even worse.

looking at that rear spoiler, it looks very much like the base of a hawk wing with a series 3 xr wing stuck on top.
