Hi guys any opinions on a Triumph 2500 S as a part time car, as in special interest rego, I only need a second car once in a while.

You might get away with it in Hobart, not much fun anywhere else in the country though - they just hate heat and tend to vapourise. I assume they have the same pump as the PI's, if they do keep 4L bottles of water in the boot to cool them down when they overheat. They have a bit of poke, the PI is the pick but the S & TC are ok too. My pref is for the auto over the overdriven 4spd. Macpherson struts, independant rear, twin carbs, comfy ride, good power, smiths gauges.
For <$500 you could do a lot worse. For >$500, you could do a lot better. #1 Tip - if you get it, put a starter button under the hood...... trust me, you'll thank me |

Gee Scott, do you know about Triumphs? I use to be in their club...loved my Dolomite!
Power, comfort, handling....just lacked reliability.

I've got a mate with one and he reckons between his old Alfa Romeo, his Mk II Jaguar and the 2500s, it's the Triumph that spends most time being used.
