Phase auto's in melbourne make those XD and XE kits...
They made the original homologation kits for Group C.

Its the bodykit place at the end of Glenbarrys RD, near FPV isn't it?

Yep, Phase Autos and FibreTech are one and the same.

They put a BA Bulge into a mate's XF a few years back, and he commented on them having the original moulds for heaps of the old touring car bodykits.

Actually I believe they were 19" running racing rubber originally designed for the Porsche Le Mans racers. Great size but not really strong enough for the weight of the big Falcon or the torque of the 351. I remember a quote from Johnson that said you could hear the belts popping when they were loaded up coming out of Forrest Elbow and he floored it for the run down Conrod :(

They also had clearance problems with the big wheels

That is all correct except i think the "belts popping" comment was more to do with the XD 15" rears not the XE 19"s, hence why they went with the "porche" 19" rears...

Cool. My bad.

So are those XE rims actually off a Porsche? Same stud pattern or a custom centre?

I think they look bloody awesome and would love a set!

The tyre's are the same size and design that were used on Le Mans Porches.. the wheels are BBS or simmons to suit the XE...

A person I know who shall remain nameless for my sake has recently purchased a genuine Phase V silver XD with the 2 inch flares and the full body kit and I am fairly sure it will be on display at the All Ford Day in Perth this weekend.

I actually agree.. it looks absolutely awesome as a race car but "over the top" for the road.. just like the current V8SC kits...

I dunno the best looking AU i've seen had a replica V8SC kit. I wouldn't mind the front bar and flares.
