Default Losing interest

That's right i'm losing interest.....

Never fear tho, it's not from my car (that will never happen). Infact i should say that my interests are shifting from one aspect to another.

I'm talking about the stereo side of things. I've always been known to go excessive in this area, but lately (well actually ever since i took a ride in Ante's new car), i've kinda lost interest in this area and have been thinking more about performance. So much $$$ have been invested in this area that it got me thinking "imagine what i could've done to the engine with that money". This is were the question lies, what does everybody think I should do.

A few things i must think about tho.

1. I will not get back what i paid for my stereo, infact prolly no-were near
2. Certain things such as sound deadening were done for the stereo and will now be rather pointless (sound deadening set me back about $800 alone)
3. Bigger power means weaker links, such as driveline, bottom end etc, which will prolly prove to be a money pit later later on.
4. I do this all the time, i get a bit carried away with my imagination and i usually need someone else to bring me back to reality.
5. Whatever i get for the stereo and any other bits that i sell, that's all i can spend on the car. Spending any "extra" money is really not an option.

These are my thoughts. I believe i should be able to get roughly $3500 for the stereo gear i'm willing to sell. I would also be selling the supercharger in exchange for a better one, so that should also see about $2000 back. That gives me roughly over $5000 that can go towards performance, which should be enough to get a decent supercharger, but not much else. None of this will be done anytime in the near future tho, i will be keeping the current system for atleast 6 months after the cars on the road.

I will definately be installing the stereo at first just to see if my interest comes back, but not sure if it'll be enough to persuade me...

What does everyone think i should do??

Atleast finish the car with what you have got planned for it for now then in time upgrade the parts the you are suggesting ie: supercharger. You havent got that far to go till the car is complete many a couple of months tops!

finish what u got steve.
be happy with it for a while, then consider doing other stuff.
if you try and do more performance stuff now, the car will be off the road even longer.
no matter how much power you end up with, you'll want more.
so enjoy what you have, get used to it, a few months down the track, then change stuff.

what john said.
you havent even finished the car yet and your changing your mind.. whats to say you sell all the stereo stuff then 6 months down the track have to spend another 10+ grand on gear!!
however, your car will be sick either way mate.. I suppose do whatever suits your plans, and financial situation

yeah no point in selling the audio and loosing alot of cash, put in what you have then save for more HP later; I wouldn't think its going to be lacking anyway.

But I agree, audio is over-rated.

As you said steve

More power+weak link's= More money!!

You just said spending any more money is not an opt. Stick to the plan dude
you'r so close without riping it apart again and it being off the road any longer. I recon you'd loose interest in the car as it will play out to long and we dont want that to happen:P

Finish what you've got or it'll be forever in the garage. Go ahead with your current plans, then if you're not happy with it down the track then change it, but you gotta finish! You'll never see it complete otherwise! It would be nice to at least drive it to the performance shop to buy a new charger for it!

I agree with all the above!!

There's no point selling at a big loss. You will have an all-rounder car - looks mint, goes harder than most and will have a ripper of a stereo. Most people overlook areas and only focus on one. That's what I admire about your's: the attention to detail in all areas.

If you get the urge, just do it later down the track after you've had the car going for a while.

Trust me, having a boring system sucks. I've been meaning to update mine for a while... But then again, I won't have the performance or sweet looks that your beast has.

Hehe chill guys i'm already over it. I get like that sometimes and my imagination often gets the better of me (which explains the whole project come to think of it :P). It's definately the loss of invested money that'll keep me back from selling the stereo. Only a few weeks ago i spent nearly $700 on RCA's, would be kinda silly to sell them off now. I'm sure once i get it all in there i'll get back into it. Also because i haven't had a good stereo for almost 2 years, i must have forgotten what a decent system sounds like.

Heh, thanx guys for knocking some sense into me

See this is what happens when cars are off the road. You think too much.

Thinking = bad. Cruising = goooood.

Ha ha.

Steve buy a Hyundai and put a performance tip on it. Fully modified!

Do as you originally planned Stereo and all. If not you will regret it the day you sit in a car with a decent stereo or attend a SQ/DB meet.
