Cyclone's due to hit tomorrow morning, (10th March) so the palm trees should be gone by then! You'll have to watch something else.

All the palm trees will be on the runway and you'll be diverted to Mt Isa. LOL

Well, most of the trees up there are coconut trees, so technically they are not palm trees, but I don't want to be picky.

Yea dude, the cyclone has hit way past cooktown, but northern beaches of Cairns and Port Douglas are still getting slammed by the storm tides, i havent been to Port to see what its like. Hopefully it wont be too bad, As im in the Tourist Industry, its stuffed us around, because we go to cape trib everyday, and had to evacuate everyone that was with our company out of there. Should be back to normal soon, i hope.

Cheers,
Jason

Well I just had a look at www.bom.gov.au and there is only light scattered showers around Port douglas.
Cyclone Ingrid is a couple of hundred klms further north. Have a look at the site few hours before you leave and you'll get a good idea of the weather your heading for.
