Default no engine brakeing

no engine brakeing on 4speed auto any one had this promlem? does btr have a website? i cant seem to find one

my brothers car does this. apparently some clutch breaks and its a costly thing to fix. his car has done over 40,000km since i noticed it not engine braking and the tranny is not showing any other signs of wear.

In the BTR 93/97LE, for manual 1, 2 and 3 and drive 2 and 3 positions the C4 clutch provides engine braking by bypassing the 3-4 one way clutch on overrun. You may want to search for other symptoms (if any) of a failed C4 clutch and see if you can observe them.

if the bands arent properly adjusted then i think it can also cause a lack of engine braking.
up to ED have externally adjustable bands, EF onwards need the valve body dropped and bands shimmed up.

mmm ok intresting. it also thumps in to second s5 should fix that . also flairs in top gear when towing and wants to kick back from top to 3rd way to easy. also somtimes it refuses to engauge any gears at all but thats very rare
