Default Tuning the I6 in Vic

Where have you taken your I6 to be tuned, and have you been happy with the service and result.

I need to get my I6 properly tuned for max power now that it is run in.

so suggestions please.

I would be expecting that a proffesional place that has played with many I6's would have a few little tricks to gain that little bit more.

the best tunes ive seen with ea's is to make sure all vacum/fuel gear is top notch and to adjust the timing.

chip or aftermarket ecu was the only form of tuning i knew about?

if your cam giving you problems have a play with setting base idle, you can improve economy and idle a fair bit, and advance the ИИИИ out of it...

I agree with damo

I dont see how you can tune a car to get good power from it if its completely stock :S Anyone can do the timing

Unless you mean putting it on a dyno and seeing what slightly different timing does? but yeah ill stay with Factory timing and john z's timing light :P

haha mick i didn't say that, i was just implying it. :P Jase get ya timing spot on and it's tuned. Would be good to see it on a dyno though anyways so might as well and see if any adjustments can be made.

Yeah you can't really tune it unless you're getting an aftermarket ecu or chip. I would suggest advancing the timing until it pings then put it back slightly. The only other thing is get an adjustable fuel reg and play with that on the dyno.

They are close to me, so will give them a call and see what they have to say.

The other thing I am thinking is that a well setup workshop will carry spares and they can swap and test parts with known working ones to see if they give more power, I simply dont have enough spares, time or a dyno to see answers in real time.
