Hi everyone,
Just looking for some confirmation. Will Fairlane/LTD rear seats fit into a Wagon? And for the front seats, can they be used in a vehicle that doesn't have electric seats? Cheers guys, Chris |

Front seats would just need a power ( to 30AMP ) & earth.
If you're referring to your AU2, just check to see if you indeed have the plug under the front seats....if you havn't already. (My S2 Fairmont has the wiring in place, but non electric seats) Can't help with the rear seat. Logic says they may be a bit bigger, but there's every chance they'll go straight in. |

Didn't Dhru put fairlane seats in the back of his BF? Would be the same procedure you'd need to follow. Try page 6 of his thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...1331318&page=6 (post #160 shows the pics - you'll have to find the bit where he describes what work was required)

think the side bolsters are different, swap material and foam over
and brackets and latches but swap over on seats also, just taking a guess though maybe need some photos for comparison

Did Linz do an upgrade in one of his XR inspired wagons. Think he used AUIII Fairmont ones with the integrated headrests. I'm sure there was talk about fitting Fairlane seats from other posters. IIRC, they do fit but, the back of the seat doesn't sit as upright as the wagons require, so look a bit 'odd' as they lean back like a sedan. The side bolsters also require some alteration/encouragement to sit right. Pretty sure they are too fat for the space between the seat and door frame.

Yeah I've spoken to Ray. The foams and leather have to be removed from the Fairlane frame, and installed on the Wagon seat frame. I would need a S2/3 Wagon seat frame (with the headrests and centre armrest) as well. There was a set I was interested in, if it was a bolt-in job. But with the work involved I think I'll leave this one for a bit later! Cheers |
