Default steering goes hard when really slow/dry steering

i had a little acco a few weeks ago where i ran up a gutter at decent speed. just the front right wheel and there was a loud bang which i assume was bump stops. i freaked out and checked everything and it seemed fine. even the wheel alignment seems good. however, when im turning in car parks/streets or when im trying to dry steer it goes REALLY heavy but seems to lighten up if i put a few more revs down while i turn the wheel. i know exactly what it sounds like but the rack is less than a year old and i really dont want to replace it again.

can someone confirm or alay my fears please.

EDIT: the pump got replaced with the rack so no problems there.
