Default starter motor

replaced the battery in xr6 now when u try to start it all u get is a tick sound when u turn the ignition on and off all has been checked with a multimeter and told is sounds like starter solenoid faulty.its a 2002 model and probably the original.has anyone had this problem and agree thanks

You sure ALL the battery cables went back on. Check the relay first, then if not find a nice long extension bar with a 13mm socket..

all cables are on. wats the idea of extension bar and socket

have been known to happen when battery is disconnected - check if starter relay is clicking when trying to start - try bridging start relay terminals 30 & 87 and see if starter turns over if so need to start checking smartshield etc -also check for power at injectors if not check ECU relay near battery.
