Question Have Holden cut all of their orders post 2016?

That is what I have heard from a supplier. Can anybody confirm this?

If that were to be true, not much else can be said other than "game over".

Of course, this needs to be substantiated first.

Given that's the end of VF, it wouldn't surprise me that they aren't ordering anything for it...

What are they supplying?

I'm sure that it's normal for things like this, to let component suppliers know what time frame they will be requiring parts, that is until the nex gen product is available an new components a required.

Unless the supplier in question is no longer getting Holden's business post 2016 and Holden are shopping elsewhere.

given that the next commodore (??) is supposed to be a front wheel drive overseas model wouldnt this just mean that they have their parts suppliers confirmed from overseas & are not going to be relying on local producers for parts?

I can confirm that when my previous employer was quoting on maintaining their capital equipment over a 5 year agreement, Holden were quite adamant that there was an clause to pull out after 3 years without any penalties (however they still wanted the rate based on a 5 year agreement). Toyota didn't have the same stipulation.

Maybe Holden has not placed supplier orders beyond 2016?

It's amazing how Chinese whispers begin....

*bump*

Maybe there is some truth in this if today's news about Holden's imminent closure is correct.
