The chinese would never allow GM to import volts, so they have to make them there. exporting to other countries is just a bonus.

I don't see how the Bailout should even be mentioned. American domestic production of the Volt is insignificant compared to the rest of the production there, it really doesn't matter...

I'm betting a cheap/similar (not the same) version of the Vault. I doubt GM would share it's secrets with the Chinese.

Off topic but....
The American media should focus on the "too big to fail" banks that were also bailed out by the taxpayer. They are the REAL bad guys in all of this.

The Chinese want payback because GM wouldn't let the Chinese companies who wanted to buy SAAB use their technology, effectively killing the deal.

A week or 2 later the Chinese are now saying the joint venture deals most western manufacturers have in place may be discontinued. Coincidence, I think not.

Seems like a case of if you won't give us your tech, we'll shaft you some other way.

A worrying thought lets hope that's not the case, but china has got themselves into a pretty good position over the last few decades

mitsubishi did it to australia so whats new.big business gets bailed out by the gov.with tax payers money and does a runner happens all the time
