Question Hard trailer covers

Hi all

I'm chasing a hard lid for my trailer, it's a 6 x 4 and will be a box trailer when I get my lazy *** into gear and fab the sides and tailgate up.

What I want though, is a raised hard lid that covers the cargo area, to protect cargo from bad weather and bad people. Kind of like the top half of one of those car roof luggage pods, that can open sideways and can be locked.

Anyone got an idea? A search of the intarnets has revealed S.F.A and at this stage I'm looking at scratch-building one out of ally. Although I'd much rather buy one off the shelf (if the price is reasonable) than fart around trying to make something that doesn't exist!

This is the closest thing I can find, and probably cost something stupid:

A tool box top may be a cheaper option, like a tradesman trailer, they simply bolt on to your existing.

Some examples here: http://www.carac.com.au/

Alternatively you could get a pod trailer for 10k ! http://www.podtrailer.com/

You could get a strait lid or a canopy. Most are lockable.

Cool looking trailer but...yeah. The one I have now cost me less than a grand - new!

But it's looking more like I'll have to go for one of those tradies type lids hey...
