Forget the Nissan Skyline GT-R / Stagea Ute Hybrid, it’s time to put a bit of Euro prestige into the ute mix.
Master of the 3D arts Bo Zolland has taken a (thankfully virtual) Volvo V70 and chopped it into a ute hot enough to rival the best efforts from Aussie heroes Holden and Ford. Titled simply the V70 Pickup Concept, the face of Bo’s ute finds inspiration in the Volvo S40, with the addition of a tougher front bumper and vents in the revised bulging bonnet. Pumped guards and huge wheels fill out the front quarter panels, leading down to similarly flared guards at the back quarters. The simple rear end is set off by classical Volvo tail lights, and a tailgate straked with 60s-style grooves. Subtle, narrow pipes poke out of the flush skirt moulding along the bottom of the rear. In another time and another economy, we could really see this concept winning the cashed-up Aussie male’s heart. Of course, if Chinese manufacturer Chery succeeds in its bid to buy Volvo from Ford, this could be just the ticket to show the world it wants to play. Someone get me Chery’s phone number… NOW THATS A NICE LOOKING UTEROUS

Such little interest. LOL
I suspect its because its a VOLVO but after all. OVLOV is owned by FORD But on a more serious note. With the styling above and the powerplant I have selected for it. Would you guys consider buying one if it was ever manufactured?? I know I would. Hands down.

oddly enough, I have a b230 (b234f) volvo engine with cosworth 16valve valve head at my place. Already has balanced bottom end and full set of thicker connecting rods. If someone here will build me that ute, I will donate the engine and let you take it for a drive occasionally
