Default Any one fitted a flame thrower???

Hi guys I’m looking at fitting a flame thrower to my postie bike (no I'm not joking) and wondering if any one has any experience with these. Looking at purchasing this kit http://www.customflamethrowers.com/modules/news/ as it seems to be one of the few aussie made kits for a reasonable price. Any advice appreciated.

Suit's flame prof mate Not worried about the paint or insurance as it's like a $1,500 postie bike. I'm having a bit of a "postie bike build off" with a mate and thought this might be a good way to set mine appart.

hahaha awesome, gotta get vids and pic's of this!

i cant imagine it would be hard to make yourself though - all it is basicly a sparkplug tapped into the exhaust which ignites unburnt fuel.

orly? If there is that much unburnt fuel coming out of my exhaust I think I'd be getting it checked out.

what else do you think it lights? It doesnt shoot anything into the exhaust other then spark. The spark ignites the unburnt fuel and gases that are expelled ending in the above pictures

I find that hard to believe. I've heard about flame thrower kits that deactivate a cylinder or similar. Surely a modern cat won't let enough unburnt fuel through to allow a flame that big. I'm tempted to go out and get someone to rev my falcon with me holding a lighter to the zorst but I'm pretty sure didly squat would happen

bah, what a waste of $110 dollars.

Send your money to me instead, and ill send you a switch, some wire, a few weld on sockets, and a pretty looking tin box with $5 of electrics inside it.
As a bonus ill include a bottle of JB to drown your sorrows after you have buyers remorse and realise you've been ripped.

But seriously, its not hard to make your own flame thrower if you are so inclined.

Whilst you save the money for the flamethrower try doing some keybangers, get your car (or bike) up to speed, then switch off the ignition, and pump the accelerator like a madman. after a few seconds turn the ignition back on. Note only works with carb cars...

My understanding of it is you king rev it then flick the "switch" which cuts power to the ignition then keep pumping the throttle which is what causes the raw fuel to get into the exhaust which is then ignited. It says cats dramaticly reduces the performance as well. I would think it would only work with carbie engines too.

You can make one easy. It's basicly a sparkplug in the exhaust, but you hook a switch that cancels the spark to the engine (or a few cylinders) and sparks up the plug in the exhaust.

Don't laugh. You can get a device called a Bee*R limiter. Its a Rev limiter that cust spark to the engine at a user set rev and lets fuel still pump...then the spark returns. It sounds like a shot gun, and shoots a jet of flame out of the exhaust. It also has a launch control funtion and really can be used as a antilag...

Side effects are burnt out cats and sore ears.

Making my car sound like a shotgun might come in handy when I'm stuck behind the little old lady that does 30 down my street. Will it work with EFI motors?

In RSA they sell them as anti carjacking devices.

The flames come out directly under the doors.

Imagine it.

Carjacker: "Hand over the keys!"

Driver: Smiling ........smoke em!
