Default 2008 Australian International Motor Show: New Fiesta Ford's Star at Show

A selection of stunning models from the world's hottest new small-car range will star as part of the Ford display at the Australian International Motor Show.

The sensational all-new Fiesta, fresh from Europe and to be officially launched in Australia early next year, will be represented at the show by three-door and five-door variants of the sporty Zetec model and a five-door LX.

"Fiesta is an exciting new direction for Ford's small car models as it incorporates stylish kinetic design and dynamic flair with traditional Ford strengths to deliver a confident, fun to drive package," said Ford Australia President Marin Burela.

"The new Fiesta reinforces Ford's driving quality leadership credentials by targeting best-in-class dynamics, precision and ride quality. It offers a distinctive exterior and a refreshingly different interior design and its arrival in Australia will further enhance our acclaimed passenger vehicle line-up."

Making its official Australian International Motor Show debut is the all-new FG Falcon, the first locally manufactured car to be awarded a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.

One of the most acclaimed new cars of the year, FG Falcon offers a fresh new exterior and interior, superior driving dynamics, increased power, more torque and improved fuel efficiency.

Falcon XR6 Turbo, G6E and G6E Turbo models will provide Sydney show-goers with the opportunity to experience the space, comfort and improved ergonomics of Ford's new Falcon.

Also making its debut at the motorshow is Ford's new FG V8 Supercar, 'FG01.'

Based on the all-new FG Falcon XR8 sedan road car, the new racecar features a striking Nitro blue and white livery. It is expected to make its race debut at the start of the 2009 season.

Sports-performance enthusiasts will also be able to whet their appetite with something much more affordable than a V8 Supercar, the sensational new LV Focus XR5 Turbo.

The 2.5-litre 166 kW turbocharged five-cylinder hot-hatch sports a fresh new kinetic design inspired appearance and is loaded with even more specification and premium quality features.

These include Bluetooth® with Voice Control, an Easyfuel capless refuelling system with mis-fuelling inhibitor and a new 'Ford Power' start button.

Other examples from the LT Focus range, including the stunning Coupe-Cabriolet, the frugal TDCi turbo-diesel, Zetec four-door and Ghia five-door hatch, will also be on display.

It's not a bad looking car, IMO. I actually prefer the current shaped Fiesta. Top Gear were raving about it. Front looks good but I'm not sure about the back, I guess I'd have to see it up close.

I don't know how the current Fiesta and Focus don't sell so well, both highly acclaimed and IMO, towards the top of their segment. Let's hope the new models start to stimulate sales.

FORD's crap marketting is why they aren't selling. But the new FOCUS ad is much better and should help sales. Now lets get similar adds for Fiesta etc

much more martian looking, ties in with the line up better following the current ford design thought. Not a boring small car, but a visually clallanging car that captures looks.

I own a current XR4, and i think i prefer mine. I like the front, but the rear kinda looks too much like everything else- (subaru,astra,mazda- take your pick)
