Default machined head pretty rough?

hey guys my stage 3 crow cam has recentky torn up my timing chain tensioner so i decided to replace every thing i could including getting rid of the common e series problem of head gasket by putting an au head gasket in.
but the problem is when i removed the head and seen that the ariganal head gasket was rooted i went to get it machined it only took them 10 min and only cost me $50 but its pretty rough looking is this going to be a problem when she all goes back together? they assured me it would be fine and if i didnt like it take it to town were it could cost me up to $500.
would greatly appreciate some knowledge if anyone knows cheers!.
no damage to gears got in just in time

Firstly it wouldn't cost $500 bucks ''in town'' to get a head machined. I paid $700 for a brand new head!

The main thing when machining a head is that it is completely flat.
Best way to test it is with a straight bar ( which many don't have laying around ) and feeler gauges.

As you probably don't have a straight bar, go to your local mechanic and get him to do it. - A 5 minute job and mayby $10. :monkes:

If its all straight then you shouldn't have a problem.

A machined head will always have swirl marks and little indentations - but if you've got more than this, then post up a pic and someone here will tell if its a rough job or not.
