The 9th world solar challenge starts on the 21st October 2007 in Darwin and is due to finish by the 28th October 2007 in Adelaide.

competed in that back in 2000 for Kormilda College, was an awsome time, sucks going down the highway at 20kmh tho when the suns hiding behind clouds

What was the fastest speed your vehicle achieved? Must be frightening to be doing over 100km/hr in such a light and flimsy device especially considering the size of the road trains which travel along the same road.

fastest we got was 110km/h just outside of Alice Springs when it flattened out

yeah i had a drive of the one from Central Queensland University in about 2000, very interesting drive, on a clear day it could technically get up to about 110 or 120 i think the best they managed was about 100.
