Default My New Focus :)

Hey all,

I got my focus! woo!

CL, safety and smooth packs, leather wrapped steering whell, tinted windows, 17' wheels. We negotiated a few things that aren't exactly standard on a CL!

I love it, handles beautifully and I'm enjoying the freedom of not having to wait til my mum's car's free! Talk about an awesome first car!

Cheers!

Nick

Agree there, My 3rd car was brand new..., My first was a 71 Escort, Canary yellow... which had gearing which was sooo short, you could drop the clutch in 2nd at the lights and watch it go.... hehe, Plus it went great on 'paradise' road before the actually layed bitumen on it

Mine was a HT holden. $900. Mum won a grand at the Adelaide casino playing keno, so this is how I got my first car. :

Fantastic new car for your first. Well done. Is it performance blue?

Unfortunately performance blue isnt available on standard focus, only XR5. The blue on this focus would be called "Ocean"

Yeah, it's Ocean blue.

I'll check the price of the 17'' wheels tomorrow, the prices are in the glovebox.

Thanks for all the kind words! It's really a dream come true, and a huge surprise when I opened the garage door a week ago and saw it in there!

It does seem like it is my last ever gift though! LOL!

It handles beautifully, nearly identically to the Audi A3 (2007 model) which my mum drives, which was great for me and a shock for her (double the price and all!).

We didn't go for the paint protection (bit expensive through the dealer), but have found a place near us that do an excellent job. Thoughts anyone?

Oh, forgot to mention! I went for a journey to the airport in it last Sunday (as a student pilot, it's my true passion!). Have a look at the best of both worlds!!!!

I personally wouldn't bother with the paint protection. Just use some of the money saved to buy a really top class polish system

Nice! My first car was a 85 Nissan/Datsun Pulsar. I got the Focus a year and a bit later.

Yeah across the range. They smoothed out the side profile of the car, no bumper strips or guard indicators.

Service was great. They've phoned twice in the past week to check up on how the car is going and what i think about the whole process in general!

Similiarly to the Five Dock Audi (the last car dealership i had a bit to do with before getting the focus), they didn't pressue the buyer much at all, but provided bare facts on all models they were aware of. It was an excellent process, and I would recomment Brad Garlick to anyone looking for a fantastic (yes, i LOVE my car SO SO SO SO SO much, it's killing me to sit through this thunderstorm wondering if it will hold up alright!) car and great service.

That's good to hear, they were great with me as well.

Glad you're enjoying your car mate, just two questions though... Did you have a chance to check the price of your wheels and is it an auto or manual?

I bought an ex-demo 07 Focus Zetec hatch from Brad Garlick last month for the mrs and we had the worst service ever! No communication, as we were from Canberra we had to organised a delivery of the vehicle which took over a week when they promised the next day. All in all though, once we got through to the owner of the dealer he was great, got the car delivered on the day we called and all touch ups were taken care of. Must've had a dodgy manager look after us at the time. Anyways, great car! looks awsome, the one i bought for the mrs was black, shoulda got blue!! Im in the process of throwing some money into it, didnt realise they have so much potential!

Hey,

wheels are 17" Zetec's, $1750. Not the current style of zetec, because these ones look better!!!!!!!!

My car is an auto.

I can honestly find no faults with the car.

Just out of interest, does anyone find that when the fuel is getting low, you can't get the same amount of power as with a full-ish tank? I came across this earlier this week when the different in power from a full tank to low on fuel was quite amazing. Maybe an added feature, maybe just a coincidence!

Hey Nick,

can I ask why you didn't go for the LX or even the Zetec with the amount of options you got on this? I am thinking of trying to get a Zetec or LX sedan for the mother inlaw, she has about $25k to spend.

Cheers
