Cracked Wing on Ute Hard Cover

This is the second one now, replaced under warranty but not under warranty any more. I never ever lift the lid by the wing and treat it with utmost care and these are genuine ford items(maybe thats where it goes pear shaped)
Are all you guys replacing these things every 18 to 24 months as well. Have I got a couple of duds . has anyone used the aftermarket clones from people like Fibre Sport and are they stronger because this is rediculous.
