Default Tickford vs XR8 Throttle Bodies

Hi all,
As the heading says, which is the better one compared aginst each other? Are their any gains or advantages in swapping the standard XR8 one with the Tickford one?

Mick

No, I think it was the 220 engines in the sedans that had the throttle bodies on them with the Tickford logo engraved on it, that's about as much I know.

That's what I've got so you're right about that.

From the T2 website

They obviously thought it was of benefit to have more flow or they would have saved there $$$ & not bothered, the T3s got a larger again 82mm throttle body but this would be too large for a mild 5 litre.

Thanks Shaun,
Yeah got one given to me the other day, was bad timing as G&D had already done the tune and exhaust but after speaking to Matt it will go on with a revised edit until I go the STROKER :
Ohh and those Di Filipos, definately the way to go, sounds tough and goes harder.

TB's just what I need to know about! About to upgrade wifey's AU3 XR8 220Kw but B4 I do I have intentions of plundering goodies for AU2 XR8 Pursuit Ute. Swapping TB was high on the list as the 'winged beast' off 220Kw is 70mm and Pursuit 200Kw is 65mm (as far as I am aware TB on 185Kw is 60mm). Can anyone tell me if the roller rockers in 220Kw are different to 200Kw? Also can anyone think of anything else worth salvaging, I have a big red toolbox and 2 weeks holidays. Oh Yeah, B4 anyone buys a Black AU3 XR8 from a Dealer make sure it's not mine!!

It might be easier just to do a total engine swap.

Defenantly swap the TB over as they are a billet and look better, with the roller rockers i think the 200kw had the 1.6 roller rocker and the 220kw got the yellaterra stealth which are a 1.72. If you have time swap them aswell.

From what I know:
185 & 200 kw Engines = Standard 68.5 or whatever TB.
220 kw Engines = 70mm Tickford TB
250 kw Engines = 82mm Tickford TB
